Most of our clients are happy with the work that we provide. Our websites are simple to edit, and uploading your Town Web website with meeting minutes or other information is a simple process, that usually only takes a few seconds to complete. This coupled with the fact that we provide fast customer support means that most of our clients are with us for the long-term.

As such, it’s a rare day that one of our clients chooses to leave.

While this is an uncommon occurrence, in the event that it does happen, we try to make the process simple for our clients. We also take the time to understand the reasons for their departure. After all, we want to find out if we can make changes so we can better serve our future customers.

For this reason when one of our municipal clients wants to leave, we ask the clerk to fill out something that’s known as: an exit interview.

What Happens During an Exit Interview?

Since our goal at Town Web Design is to make the town clerk’s job easier, will do our best to ensure that the process of transferring the website to another company is as seamless and painless as possible. While there is a lot that goes into moving a website we will do our best to simplify the process.

An exit interview will help make the transition as seamless as possible. Our exit interviews are a straightforward process –consisting of a simple questionnaire that you will be asked to fill out, which will help us to better serve other clients in the future.

The Exit Process

In addition to the exit interview, once a client informs us that they are planning to leave, we will provide them with all of the information that they’ll need to transfer their website management services somewhere else, and will assist in the handover process.

Should you choose to leave, we will provide you with a list of domain names that are in your account and managed by us, as well as the domain expiry dates for each domain, and the zone record of each. We can also make immediate edits to the zone record of the domain, which can be helpful if a new designer has a new site ready to be made live. Special edits that we can perform upon request include changing the domain registrant, the technical contact, or the billing contact.

We will also transfer the domain name by unlocking the domain and sending off the domain authorization code. At Town Web Design, we always try to manage our clients’ domains for them –and register domains using our email address. One reason that we do this is because it makes the process of transferring ownership of the domain, or editing details connected with the account a simple and straightforward process. Having the domains is our name also makes it easier for us to manage our clients’ websites, allowing us to easily take care of any technical issues that arise.

It is rare that a customer wants to leave Town Web, but if they do, we will do everything possible to make the process as easy as possible for them.
